Meet some Early Adaptors

Here are a few examples of diverse individuals and/or organizations that are customers from Nau 1.0, which will continue to support Nau 2.0 through Connect. These are not just professional connections but friends of ours in the Chicago community. We thank them for the continuous support.

+ Sara Snow: A celebrity in the “green industry” and an expert on green living, Sara has television shows on the Discovery Channel, CNN.com, writes for Treehugger.com, and speaks at Green Business Conferences and positive engagements across the nation. She has a book coming out the spring of 2009 that Random House is publishing about green living.

+ Peter Nicholson: He is the Founder of Chicago Sustainable Business Alliance, Sustainable Convergence, various eco-business seminars, and Chicago Green Drinks. Peter also is the most influential person representing “green business” in the Chicagoland area. All the while, he praises Nau and communicates our business unusual practices. Peter is the essence of what a Nau customer was designed to be. It continues to be a pleasure, building a lasting relationship with such a forward-thinking individual.

+ Elizabeth Redmond: As a consultant and designer, Elizabeth strives to combine education and function with radical concepts relating to energy and sustainability. Elizabeth works for Ecolect as the Materials Activator where she corresponds with manufacturers and works on consulting projects. She is also inventor and designer of POWERleap- a flooring system that generates electricity from human footfall. Elizabeth's work has appeared in the NY times, Metropolis Magazine, NPR, and The Sundance Channel. She has many pieces from Nau and continues to support Connect.

+ Mark Mitten: Mark is the leader in the development of the Chicago 2016 Olympic bid, and we have seeded him not only for his prestigious role within the City of Chicago but because he speaks highly of us to almost everyone he is in contact with. Mark continues to be a strong advocate of our brand and many individuals had come into our Chicago Webfront referencing him and purchasing our collections.

+ Working Bikes: Working Bikes is a not-for-profit cooperative, which diverts bicycles from the waste stream in Chicago by repairing them for sale and charity. Working Bikes is primarily volunteer-driven. Currently it receives no government or foundation money. Working Bikes uses that money to provide bicycles to charity organizations within Chicagoland and to ship bicycles to the Gulf Coast, Cuba, Guatemala, Ecuador, and many other places of need. Chicago has a massive cycling community and Working Bikes is a thought leader within this niche. We have seeded approximately 10 associates from Working Bikes, which ride to work in their Nau gear – rain, sleet, snow, ice, and sub zero wind chills. Connect is the only “bike drop off location” in the Midtown/North side of the city. So recycle your old bike today – drop it off at Connect.
